If you manage a Facebook page for your business when was the last time you reviewed who has access to your page?
Could some of your old staff still be administrators or editors? Or perhaps people that were granted access to assist with a promotion or campaign that has long finished?
As a business page manager it’s essential you regularly check who has access to your page.
Think of the potential damage that could be done to your brand and business if a disgruntled employee posted something inappropriate… it could tarnish the image of your business, lose customers or even become a PR nightmare.
You should ensure that any admins or editors on the page are aware of the responsibility and have some basic security precautions in place. Basic things such as having a lock on their phone and ensuring they aren’t signed into Facebook on public computers or old devices will help ensure that your business page isn’t compromised.
So take 1 minute out of your day to check your business’ Facebook page roles, and remove anyone who doesn’t need access. After you do it put a reminder in your calendar and set it to recurring every 6 months to do a quick check – it takes 1 minute to check and could prevent a publicity nightmare.
How to check your Facebook page roles for your business
