As they do each year, the colour experts at Pantone have released the colour of the year for 2017, and it’s named ‘Greenery’.
The rationale behind choosing the particular colour was broken down in the post, explaining the colour symbolises the connection and rejuvenation that we get from nature.
Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.
Last year Pantone did something new and released not one, but two colours of the year, ‘Rose Quartz’ and ‘Serenity’.
It’s always interesting to see what colour Pantone chooses for the colour of year – it serves as a good reminder of the virtually infinite amount of colours that designers and brands have to utilise, and is also highlights how important colours can be in evoking feelings and communicating a message.
